Alvin “Big Al” Sams, feature reporter for “Good Day” at KMAX 31 in Sacramento, has died. 

Sams passed away at home, it was announced this morning. No cause of death was given. 

He had been a feature reporter for the long running “Good Day” since joining in 2021. Prior to that, he was a feature reporter at KTXL Fox 40 in Sacramento. Sams also spent many years on Sacramento radio airwaves. He had been a part of the Northern California television and radio community for more than 25 years. 

KOVR CBS13, KMAX 31’s sister station, remembered Sams on its website today. 

“Good Day” will air a remembrance of Sams in a special tribute on Sunday.
