Nominating Committee Will Select Prospective Governors for 2018 Election

Member Benefit

By Richard Harmelink
Chapter Governor, Fresno

The time for electing new governors for the Board of Governors of our Chapter is right around the corner in May. Before we have an election, however, a “Governor’s Nominating Committee” must be formed, by April 15. This committee consists of seven members. Only one of the members can be a current NATAS governor. The others must be current NATAS members.

Ideally, the Board of Governors would like to have at least one person serve as a Committee member from each of the Chapter regions – San Francisco Bay Area, Sacramento, Fresno, Salinas-Monterey, Chico-Redding, Eureka, Reno and Hawaii serve as a Committee member.

The task at hand would be to assist in searching and selecting members of our Chapter to serve as our Chapter governors for the next two years, from July 1, 2018 to June 30, 2020. Additionally, the purpose of this nominating committee is to help make the NATAS governors’ election more transparent. The committee’s responsibilities would wrap up in May with the governors’ ballot being mailed out to all NATAS members for voting. That’s it!
