Announces the Recipients of the 2021-2022
REGIONAL STUDENT PRODUCTION AWARDS FOR EXCELLENCE
The Board of Governors of the San Francisco/Northern California Chapter of The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2021-2022 Regional Student Television Production Awards for Excellence.
Entries were submitted by High Schools with media programs in the chapter’s region, Visalia to the Oregon border including Reno, Nevada and Hawaii, for work done during the 2021-22 school year. The “Award for Excellence,” an engraved glass pillar, is presented to the school with each student recipient receiving a certificate. The “Award for Merit” each student receives a certificate. A total of 288 entries were received from 23 high schools.
18 Pillars for Excellence and 29 Certificates for Merit are being awarded.
“Thrilled that our contest has doubled in size in entries and schools participating this year,” said chapter Education Chair Toby Momtaz. “We are so thankful again for the second year to receiving a large donation from a generous couple that will cover all the expenses of the contest.”
Six high schools will receive Pillars of Excellence, El Diamante High School, Visalia (five); Buchanan High School, Clovis (four); Moanalua High School, Honolulu, HI (three); Whitney High School: WCTV19, Rocklin (three); Tamalpais High School: Academy of Integrated Humanities and New Media (AIM), Mill Valley (two); and Franklin High School, Elk Gove (one).
Certificates of Merit also going to eight high schools: Moanalua High School, Honolulu, HI (seven); Buchanan High School, Clovis (six); Whitney High School: WCTV19, Rocklin (six); Redwood High School, Visalia (three); El Diamante High School, Visalia (three); Franklin High School, Elk Gove (two); Tamalpais High School: Academy of Integrated Humanities and New Media (AIM), Mill Valley (two).
The Pillar recipients “Award of Excellence,” will move forward to a national competition between all 19 chapters of NATAS. National recipients will be announced in the Fall.
