Yvonne Simons, assistant news director at KOVR/KMAX in Sacramento, joins KATU-TV in Portland as news director. It’s a return to the news director’s chair for Simons, who started her career with on-air jobs before moving into management. Previously, she was news director at KBOI-TV in Boise.
Sara Zendehnam joins KTVU Fox 2 in Oakland as a reporter. She leaves KTXL Fox 40 in Sacramento, where she has served as a reporter and fill-in anchor. She begins Oct. 8.
Samantha Velinda joins KRON 4 in San Francisco as an assignment editor. Previously, she was an assignment editor at KNTV NBC Bay Area/KSTS Telemundo 48 in San Jose.

Diane Ako is promoted to weekend evening anchor at KITV in Honolulu. Previously, she was a morning anchor for KHON in Honolulu.
Ty Steele joins KCRA 3 in Sacramento as weekday morning anchor. Previously, hs was an anchor at KTXL Fox 40 in Sacramento.
Sanaz Tahernia joins KRON-TV in San Francisco as a reporter and anchor. She leaves KRNV in Reno, where she has been a reporter and anchor.
