SMPTE and NATAS Use Web to Cast for Student Members

On September 27th, Education Chair Keith Sanders and Chapter President Steve Shlisky accepted an invitation to participate in a live webcast aimed at the college students in our regions.This online broadcast focused on NATAS and the Society of Motion Picture & Television Engineers (SMPTE). 

The one-hour webcast was Moderated by Director of Education at SMPTE Joel E Welch. Along with Sanders and Shlisky the other participants were SMPTE Director Educational Institutions, SMPTE Membership John Shike and SMPTE San Francisco Section Chair Section Keith Graham.

Using PowerPoint slides and website tours, the organizations expressed the values of membership in a professional broadcast organization: mentorship from veterans; continuing professional education, internships, job search and advancement. The NATAS and SMPTE panelists discussed their respective scholarships as well.
