Gold & Silver Circle 2018 Nomination Deadline April 15


The nomination deadline is approaching for the Gold & Silver Circle Class of 2018. Nominations will be accepted until April 15. Awards Chair Wayne Freedman (SC ’02) calls the Gold & Silver Circle “our chapter’s Broadcasting Hall of Fame.” This year’s class will be officially recognized at the elegant and entertaining Induction Luncheon on Saturday, October 20 at the Park Central Hotel in San Francisco.

Wing: New Emmy® Awards Red Carpet Interviewer Line-Up

KPIX 5’s Da Lin will once again be co-hosting the Emmy® Awards Gala’s red carpet coverage from the SFJAZZ Center on June 2! I’m honored and humbled to be joining him again this year with the co-hosting duties, which are always fun for everyone! This will be Da’s fifth year as red carpet co-host, and it will also be my fifth tour of duty on the red carpet, too! Joining us on the red carpet for the first time this year will be Melanie Woodrow, from KGO-TV ABC7 and my board colleague on the Chapter’s Board of Governors.

KGO-TV ABC7 in San Francisco has a new president and general manager. Tom Cibrowski, senior vice president of content, coverage and special events at ABC News, is moving to the Bay Area to join the network’s owned-and-operated San Francisco station.

Many screenings are previews of first-run movies, and include “Q&A” sessions with the director, producer and/or cast members of the film.
